                   ENGINEERING  (B.E/B.TECH).

The word engineering is derived from Latin word “ingeniare” which means “to design” or “to create”. Engineering is defined has the branch of science and technology. All the activities of engineering courses such has managing and coordinating the standards of the institutions which provides the engineering courses in india is governed by All-India Council of technical Education (AICTE) which was established in the year 1945. The engineering courses provided in India are by government as well as private institutions, levels of engineering are bachelor, master, diploma and certification. Degrees of engineering and technology are Bachelors of Technology (B.Tech), Bachelor of engineering (B.E) & Master of technology ( and Master of Engineering. Engineering is the ever green and demanding career in the market.

Types of Engineering Courses.

The following are the different branches of engineering courses where a candidate can opt for a particular one depending upon his/her interest, admission into below courses is done through the entrance examination which will be conducted all over the country.

  Aerospace Engineering: This branch of engineering course includes developing, designing, constructing, testing and operating the aero planes and spacecraft. Aerospace engineering is of two types Aeronautical engineering and Astronautical engineering. Both deals with craft but the former stay within earth’s atmosphere but the later operates outside of earth’s atmosphere.

Automobile Engineering: This branch of engineering course deals with designing, manufacturing and operating machines.

Civil Engineering: This branch of engineering course mainly deals with designing, developing, executing of dams, bridges, harbors, lighthouses roads, canals, tunnels etc.

Computer Engineering: This branch of engineering course deals with designing, developing, manufacturing and maintenance of computer and computers peripherals/components.

Chemical engineering: This branch of engineering course deals developing, designing and operating plants to change materials physical or chemical states.

Chemical engineering: This branch of engineering course deals developing, designing and operating plants to change materials physical or chemical states.

Electrical & Electronic engineering: The electrical engineering course deals with electric lights, power systems and equipments whereas electronic engineering deals with wire and radio communication, program stored in computer, radar and automatic control system.

Information technology: This branch of engineering manages and uses information with the help of computer based tools. It includes both hardware and software.

Genetic Engineering: This branch of engineering deals with modification, manipulation and re-combination of Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) or other nucleic-acid molecules in order to modify an organism or population of an organism.

Mechanical Engineering: This branch of engineering mainly concern with designing, manufacturing, installations and operating the engines and machines

Mining Engineering: This branch of engineering deals with mines and minerals, Mining engineers manufactures and develops the instruments which are required in mining.

Marine Engineering: This branch of engineering deals with designing, constructing and managing the ships and other sailing vehicle.

Military Engineering: This branch of engineering is an art of designing and building military work such as military transport, military communication, construction or maintenance of airfield, roads, railroads, bridges, ports and hospitals.

 Software Engineering: This branch of engineering deals with designing, manufacturing, development and maintenance of software’s. Software engineering includes knowledge from computer engineering and other field also.



             Govt. jobs after B.Tech in Computer Science

There are many Govt. jobs after B.Tech in computer Science but as it is new branch in engineering compared to electronics, electrical and other branch of engineering in India so differently there is less opportunity in Govt. jobs compared to other branch of engineering. For example one of the major recruiter in India for Govt. job is Railway, but there is almost no vacancy for computer science engineering graduate, for various section engineer post(section engineer electrical, section engineer signal, section engineer telecom., section engineer works etc.)required qualifications are B.E/B.Tech in electrical, electronics, mechanical, civil, radio engineering, communication, telecom etc.
Now some Railway Recruitment Board also included Computer Science graduate engineer in eligibility list for section engineer (signal, telecom.). similarly other Govt. sector and public sector unit now also going to recruit computer science engineer graduate.
Some of the other Govt. and public sector jobs for computer science engineering graduates are in DRDO (defense research organization recruit engineer every year), Banks (as IT officer), BSNL (as JTO for every one or two year) etc.

  •                                                                                 One of the best groups that have never lasting demand is mechanical engineering. This is the one of two only groups that has continuous placements through out the year. Mechanical engineering stands in the top two in terms of oldness, while civil engineering stands in the top. So let us see various details of mechanical engineering.
    Mechanical engineering contains nearly 30 subjects that are related to mechanics, Design, Thermal, manufacturing etc. Along with these there are some of the advanced subjects like Robotics, CAD/CAM, CNC & FNS, Advanced manufacturing engineering, and various design soft wares like PRO-engineer (3D design), AUTOCAD, CATIA etc. Along with these there are many analysis subjects and software courses like HYPER MESH, ANSYS etc. The labs in mechanical engineering will be very interesting. If you are fear of drawing then there is no problem in taking mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineering is the only group that has developed its scope through a larger extent. Using advanced software now draws every drawing and design. Of all the subjects the top priority goes to design and thermal, as ample number of jobs are available over these courses.
    One of the interesting subjects who play a vital role in deciding the future of any mechanical engineer is Design. This subject basically deals with design of bodies under various stresses and strains. In this course one learn about various basics of design of bodies like springs, bodies undergoing variable stresses (or) Fluctuating stresses and static stresses, various joints, clutches, brakes, boilers and pressure vessels, shafts, power screws, jigs, bearings, fixtures and many more. There are large number of jobs based on design. Every mechanical oriented company requires a numerous number of design engineers as he is the only person who can calculate all the factors affecting the object developed. But of all the engineering subjects in mechanical field this is little tough.
    Next to design comes thermal. This subject is very interesting than all the subjects of mechanical engineering. This subject deals with how the engine works and various mechanisms of both CI and SI engines. This stream also has power plant engineering as one of the subject that plays vital role in scoring jobs in many power plants.
    Last but not least comes the great course of manufacturing. This deals with how a material is developed in to required object. The labs based on this are very interesting. One will be preparing many jobs by using ample number of machines like lathe, shaper, driller, slotter, capstan lathe, turret lathe, miller etc. Along with these one comes to know about the details of various finishing and super finishing operations. Now many-advanced machine based subjects are also introduced like CIM. We will be undergoing labs based on CNC & FNS.
    Coming to the aspects of placements and mechanical oriented companies, nearly a person having good knowledge in any of the above mentioned aspects are likely to get placed in top Multi National companies like CAT, TATA steels, TATA motors, Thermax, Mahindra and Mahindra, Geometrics, Fiat, Benz, all automobile companies, thermal based companies, design oriented companies etc. there are ample number of jobs in government sector also. In my view a person who can be termed as lucky is the person who took mechanical as their main stream. As along with getting placements in core companies these people are also eligible for doing jobs of computer people. The salaries of mechanical engineers ranges between 1.5 lakhs to infinity per annum. If a person is not interested to join in any company then he can establish an enterprise of his own. As per the records a person having a CNC machine can obtain a minimum turnover of 1 crore per annum.
